We have forged proud and distinguished careers in this industry and have established an enviable reputation as Experts.  We aren’t a nobody that has to pay $000’s on Google Adwords to rank highest on search engines. We invite you to first compare some of the professional and community projects which our people and company have engaged in before you consider training with another organisation. If you can find an organisation with a more distinguished track record then we would suggest you choose them. Our brand is your competitive edge over another person vying for the same job as you. OHSA is a recognised brand known and trusted by industry and prospective employers. Having trained over 50,000 students we must be doing something right.

A Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S) BSB41415 is now the minimum requirement for OHS management in most Australian workplaces. OHSA provides a nationally recognised on-line and face-to-face training program for students to gain this qualification.

The Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety training course is the usual minimum requirement for those in Brisbane and Australia who want to commence a career in occupational health & safety. After completing this qualification, you will be able to work as a health and safety practitioner and become responsible for the corresponding WH&S functions within a workplace. The online program has its advantages – you can start any time you like, it is self-paced and we offer support by some of the most qualified WH&S experts in Australia, with current real world experience (see our people’s projects on our website to get a picture of the vast experience that your trainers have – they are not academics without real world experience!)

Obtaining your Certificate IV Online and in Brisbane

Depending on individual background, experience and access to resources, the total hours needed to achieve the WHS qualification may vary, but all learners need to meet the benchmarks detailed in the BSB15 training package. All learners’ activities and assessment tasks have been mapped against the units of competence and meet the performance criteria, critical aspects of evidence and context of assessment to achieve competency.

Students must complete this course within 12 months of enrolment. Students could complete the course self-paced in 3 months, however these following guidelines are provided to assist you to determine your completion timeframe.

11.5hrs/week = 6 months or 5.5hrs/week = 1 year.

To support your studies, you will be provided with qualified trainers, learning materials, telephone and email support. We do not train you and then desert you!

Course Requirements

There are no formal pre-requisites for the Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety online course or face to face course in Brisbane, although minimum Grade 10 is recommended.
