What will you learn in OHSA’s Certificate IV in Training and Assessment Course?

The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40110 now replaces the earlier version TAA40104 qualification. The Cert IV TAE is now Australia’s ‘must have’ training qualification.

OHSA’s Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40110 course will give you a thorough understanding of the key areas of Training and Assessment, including design, delivery, and assessment.  Our course will teach you how to successfully design and present professional training and/or learning programs for both individuals and groups, how to develop courses based on national training packages and accredited courses, how to develop your own non-accredited courses or programs to meet the needs of your client or organization and how to assess your learners to ensure that they reach the desired learning goals by developing good assessment activities and tools which are based on sound assessing practices.

Course Outline & Structure

 The latest TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is comprised of 10 course units, including 7 core units PLUS 3 elective units.   Our Cert IV TAE units have been selected specifically to ensure they meet the needs of a wide range of training professionals.

Core Units include (7 total):

TAEDES401A – Design and develop learning programs
TAEDES402A – Use training packages and accredited courses to meet client needs
TAEDEL401A – Plan, organise and deliver group-based learning
TAEDEL402A – Plan, organise and facilitate learning in the workplace
TAEASS401B – Plan assessment activities and processes
TAEASS402B – Assess competence
TAEASS403B – Participate in assessment validation 

Electives (complete 3 of 3):

TAELLN401A – Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills
TAEDEL301A – Provide work skill instruction
BSBCMM401A – Make a presentation

Prerequisites

There are no formal prerequisites to the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40110, however to undertake this course you do need access to a computer and be internet literate, have sound language and literacy skills (suggest Grade 10 minimum), as well as reasonable  computer and word processing skills.  OHSA is well regarded by its ongoing post course support. We don’t train and leave you. Our experts are readily accessible by phone, email or internet.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

RPL is offered to any Learner who can provide evidence of competency for the units offered within the qualification. If you wish to apply for RPL you should contact our office.

Training Schedule

The Certificate IV in training and Assessment TAE40110 course is offered as a blended-delivery course (5 day workshop with post course study) or through online or distance-learning.

The blended-delivery Cert IV TAE Course is offered over a 5 day face-to-face workshop whereby a significant amount of the coursework and assessment is completed in class with the remaining tasks performed post course.  We require students to complete the post course exercises within 6 months which is usually more than adequate (although there is flexibility where the need arises).

Many students prefer to study at their own pace in their leisure of their own environment. As such, our online courses are some of our most popular courses.  Through online learning you can start straight away!   The course utilizes a range of electronic learning resources.
