Confined space refresher training course is available at our training centres in Brisbane, Gold Coast and onsite. This refresher course is only to refresh the Day 1 Confined Space Entry Course and the three units of competency delivered in the OHSA Day 1 Confined Space Entry Course. You must provide a Justice of the Peace or Commissioner of Declarations certified copy of your previous Statement of Attainment issued by a Registered Training Organisation which lists these three (3) Units of Competencies prior to you undertaking the training course. You must also have had experience working in confined spaces within the past 2 years otherwise it is recommended that you undertake the initial full course. If you are unable to produce a JP Certified Statement of Attainment for these units of competency and evidence of recent industry experience (i.e. your position description listing confined space work or a letter from your employer verifying that you have completed confined spaces work in the previous two (2) years) you will be issued a Statement of Attendance and NOT the Statement of Attainment.

Working in confined space environments is a high-risk activity and has been responsible for many work-related deaths.
Legislation requires that all persons with work activities related to confined or restricted space/s, must undertake appropriate training and be assessed as competent, to perform those activities in accordance with Australian Standard AS2865 Safe Working in a Confined Space.
This nationally recognised OHSA Confined Space Entry (CSE1) – Initial 1 Day Training Course is available at our training centres in Brisbane and the Gold Coast and is designed for people who work in or around confined space areas. It is the initial basic introductory course which allows you to conduct a risk assessment and enter a confined space environment to conduct work.
We are able to conduct on-site training with either our purpose built mobile training facility, or at your own workplace and tailor the training course to suit the practical scenarios relevant to your company’s operations. While there is a standard set of learning outcomes for the course, we understand that the context and environment in which the learning is applied is varied. It is designed to teach participants how to:

OHSA will supply all equipment necessary for you to undertake training, however we actively encourage students to bring along their own equipment where practicable.
Safety clothing including long sleeved shirt/trousers and enclosed footwear is required.
Participants should have sufficient literacy and numeracy to read and comprehend instructions for safety at the workplace.
Participants will need sufficient physical and psychological ability to participate in practical scenario based training, which may involve crawling and climbing up, down, through or under structures or confined and restricted spaces, being temporarily suspended, wearing harnesses and other relevant PPE, lifting and carrying breathing apparatus/ cylinders, donning harnesses, dragging, lifting or carrying people or mannequins in confined and restricted environments in dark, low light or smoke filled areas.
