1. To be eligible for this funding, you NEED TO BE:
- An Eligible Worker; OR
- An Unemployed Eligible Worker who has been unemployed for a period not greater than 6 months in Queensland;
AND MUST BE:
- An Australian or New Zealand citizen; or
- A permanent resident of Australia; or
- A participant who has the right to work in Australia on a valid Visa and has been employed in the Queensland Building and Construction Industry for a period of 6 months or more
AND MUST:
- Be permanently employed in Queensland, OR permanently reside in Queensland
2. You MUST NOT BE:
- An employee of an Authority (refer to exceptions);
- Currently enrolled and participating in a Queensland secondary school program
- Undertaking the training as part of an Apprenticeship or Traineeship
- A contracted trainer, assessor, or existing worker of an RTO;
- Funded by an Authority or such other source for the delivery of the same Training being undertaken as part of this Program;
- Those Participants seeking a Verification of Competency (or Determination of Competency)
- Funded for more than eight (8) Short courses under this program (either Building Specific and/or Civil Specific) in the same period;
- Funded for more than three (3) mobile plant operator (MPO) OR three (3) high-risk work (HRW) units of competency in the same program period
Exceptions:
A participant whose employer is a local council who is undertaking roles that would ordinarily be considered an Eligible Worker.
If you believe you meet these criteria and would like to be considered for funded enrollment, applications and payments MUST be received and approved prior to Registration and Attendance of the course.

ID Requirements for CSQ Funding 25-26
Applicants MUST submit the following:
(i) One (1) of the following:
- Australian or New Zealand Full Birth Certificate or Birth Certificate Extract*;
- Australian or New Zealand Passport (up to 6 months after the expiry date);
- Medicare card (green only) or My.Gov Medicare Snapshot;
- Approved Visa – please contact for more information on accepted Visas. Note: An International Student Visa is not eligible.
* A Commemorative birth certificate cannot be accepted.
(ii) Evidence to verify that Participants meet the Existing and Eligible Worker criteria for employment in the Building and Construction Industry in Qld. Evidence provided may include, but is not limited to the following:
- A. The name of the Employer;
- B. Job title of Employee;
- C. Length of service with the Employer; and
- D. Details of what duties are being undertaken in the Building and Construction Industry.
(iii) Evidence that demonstrates unemployment for an eligible worker (More information is outlined in the application form)
Funded enrollments cannot be assessed until the documentation is provided with your completed application.
