Statement of Completion – Risk Management Training Course for Workers

This course is designed to provide workers with the necessary skills and knowledge required to conduct effective risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis. This is the entry level risk management training designed to assist workers understand how to identify hazards, assess risks, select, implement and monitor effective controls and contribute to the development of risk assessment documentation including Job Safety Analysis / Safe Work Method Statements etc.

• Introduction to AS/NZS ISO 31000:2009 Risk Management Standard and Code of Practice How to Manage Work Health and Safety Risks
• Roles and responsibilities of management and employees
• Understanding and identifying hazards
• Conducting Risk Assessments
• Selecting effective controls from the Hierarchy of Controls
• Understanding personal risk assessments and team based risk assessments
• Qualitative and quantitative measurements of risk
• Determining Residual risk ratings and residual risk reduction strategies
• Identifying Worksite policy and procedures
• Consultation as part of the risk assessment process
• Implementing, monitoring and reviewing risk assessments
• Understanding personal role in contributing to effective risk management in the workplace

There are no prerequisites for this course however the student will need sufficient language and literacy to read and interpret written workplace documents and complete written practical and theory assessment tasks.
