CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry

Overview

The General Construction Induction White Card training provides new and existing workers with the basic understanding and knowledge needed to start or continue work within the building and construction industry.

This card was formerly known as a blue card.

To hold a general construction induction card, you must show knowledge of:

• Occupational health and safety legislative requirements
• The construction industry’s basic principles of risk management and injury and illness prevention.

You must complete training and assessment to be issued a general construction induction card (white card).

Upon completing the course, the RTO will issue evidence in the form of a Statement of Attainment that you have completed the training, and the white card will be issued. You should keep evidence of completion of training as it may be required to replace your card in the future.

Training details:

• Face to face training in our training centres in Brisbane and the Gold Coast Qld.
• Construction induction training consists of theory and practical exercises and assessments.
• Answer questions verbally as directed by an assessor.
• Students must demonstrate correct fitment of PPE, including eye protection, hearing protection, a hard hat, and a high-visibility vest.
• High-quality trainers with real-world experience.

What is a white card?

• The General Construction Induction card provides new and existing workers with the basic understanding and knowledge needed to start or continue work within the building and construction industry.

How to get a white card?

• Complete your training with OHSA and you will receive a Statement of Attainment and a plastic White Card for you to produce onsite to verify competency

White card replacement, lost white card?

• We can issue you a replacement card if you did your training with us originally or if you have completed through another RTO and you have a Statement of Attainment as evidence.  Administration fee applies

Are white cards valid in all states and territories?

• The following construction induction cards are recognised in Queensland and vice versa:
  • Victoria construction induction card
    New South Wales construction induction card
    Australian Capital Territory construction induction card
    South Australia construction induction card
    Tasmania construction induction card
    Western Australia construction induction card
    Northern Territory construction induction card.

• Queensland white cards are also accepted throughout Australia.
